Meet our estate planning, probate and trust administration attorneys

Meet Lauren

Lauren Cappelloni (she/her) distinguishes herself based on the depth of her knowledge and her empathy in counseling clients on estate planning, probate and trust administration, from the initial drafting stage through the administration of estates.

Lauren began her law practice in 2006 as a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Nixon Peabody LLP, a large international law firm. In 2008, she joined a local boutique estate planning and administration firm in order to focus exclusively on the area of law in which she is most interested. Six years later, she was named a partner. In 2018, after ten years of practice dedicated exclusively to estate planning and administration, including drafting plans for clients that became dear friends and then helping their relatives and friends administer their estates once they passed, Lauren decided to open Cappelloni Law PC to further tailor her practice and allow for greater flexibility in servicing her clients.

Lauren was born and raised in the Bay Area.  She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and attended University of California Collage of the Law, San Francisco (formerly University of California Hastings College of the Law), where she was a member of Hastings Law Journal.

Lauren and her spouse, two children, and German Shepherd love living in San Francisco and can often be found walking at Ocean Beach or spending time with family and friends.  Lauren also volunteers in her children's elementary school and as a mentor for the Hastings Alumni Mentor program.

Lauren is admitted to the State Bar of California. She is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the California Lawyers Association, the San Francisco Bar Association, and the East Bay Trusts and Estates Lawyers.

During the initial months of the Covid-19 outbreak, in March and April 2020, Lauren volunteered over 60 hours of time helping front line health care workers in California prepare free wills and health care directives. These efforts were reported on in this link: San Francisco Chronicle. She subsequently presented to the University of California San Francisco Department of Emergency Residence Conference to help several dozen local emergency room doctors prepare emergency documents on an expedited basis as a way of expressing thanks for their extraordinary work during unprecedented times.

Meet Karly

Karly Schlinkert (she/her) and Lauren have worked together for many years, briefly overlapping at a previous firm and continuing to collaborate subsequently before Karly joined Cappelloni Law PC.

Karly began her law practice as an associate at an estate planning firm in Fremont following her admission to the State Bar of California in 2014.  In 2018, she joined the same local boutique estate planning and administration firm in San Francisco as Lauren in order to practice and refine her skills in the areas of trust administration and probate proceedings. She is thrilled to bring her expertise to Cappelloni Law PC.

Karly was also born and raised in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Davis and subsequently attended Golden Gate University School of Law, where she was a published member of the Golden Gate University Law Review.

She enjoys baking - especially desserts - and sharing recipes with family and friends. She also loves spending as much time as she can with her English Bulldog, Mr. Buttons, and finds endless entertainment dressing him in sweaters and seasonal costumes, which he’s (usually) a good sport about.

Karly is admitted to the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Texas.
